The Ultimate Boarder Championship was created in response to the growing popularity of these sports, and as a way to promote healthy, athletic lifestyles among young people. All in a positive and competitive environment that grooms role models and heroes for our country's next generation.

The triathlon of a new generation, the Ultimate Boarder Championship is a one-week competition to find the athlete who can conquer the art of surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding.

The first-ever Ultimate Boarder Championship was held April 13-19, 2008. Forty-five professional and amateur athletes from around the World competed for the Ultimate Boarder title and a first place prize of $30,000. The snowboard competition was held on April 13 at Squaw Valley USA (Lake Tahoe, California), followed by the surf competition on April 16 at C Street (Ventura, California), and finished with the skateboard competition and awards ceremony on April 19 at the Ventura County Fairgrounds (Ventura, California).

In a style similar to the Tour de France, a blue jersey was awarded to the overall leader at the end of each stage of the competition.

The 2nd Annual Ultimate Boarder Championship was held from April 4-11, 2009 at Bear Mountain and the Ventura County Fairgrounds. Coast Body Wash, a product of The Dial Corporation, served as the title sponsor. As the title sponsor of Ultimate Boarder, Coast will was fully integrated with all marketing and media benefits associated with one of the most diverse and unique sporting events in the country. A one-hour TV show was produced on the event that premiered on FUEL TV and was then syndicated in over 200 million households internationally. Nearly $60,000 in prize money was handed out, including a $30,000 check for 1st place.

The 3rd Annual Ultimate Boarder Championship will be held March 13-20, 2010 at Seaside Reef, Northstar-at-Tahoe and the Grand Sierra Resort & Casino in Reno. Following the skate finals and awards ceremony PENNYWISE & T.S.O.L. will perform the closing night concert in the Grand Theatre, Saturday, March 20.
